Our ultimate goal is to achieve positive change for the greater good of our community. Our greatest joy is derived from engaging in and supporting community initiatives. Sharon coined the name S-Wave six years ago, when the Build a Backpack Project was originally launched. The S represented Sharon, and the wave signified the ripple impact that a single act of kindness may cause. Mark founded Smile Sharing and ICare over six years ago with the goal of creating and sustaining smiles both locally and globally. His philanthropy also extended to developing opportunities for our community to develop financial capacity. Divine intervention brought us together in 2021 with one assignment: to have a greater impact on effecting change in the lives we encounter. Together, we co-founded the Afro-Canadian Philanthropic Initiative in 2022.
ACPI’s Legacy of Change
The Afro Canadian Philanthropic Initiative was founded out of the need to create meaningful change in the Black Community; and to recognize sponsors of our community who are impacting the lives of others with acts of kindness.
ACPI is a charitable non-profit organization where sponsors and beneficiaries of ACPI’s giving are cultivated to create equity and to provide material goods, services, and financial support to sponsors of the Black Community and the African Diaspora across Canada, in the Caribbean, and Africa.
ACPI is a network of individuals with a common belief
“To Whom Much is Given, Much will be Required.”
Creating meaningful change through the power of collective giving
Pay it forward and support one of our initiatives.
