Frequently Asked Questions

WHAT IS THE MISSION OF ACPI?

Driven by sustainable development, ACPI is a national and global organization that fosters the belief and practice that one act of kindness prospers into many acts of kindness with the purpose of establishing a legacy of socioeconomic equity in Black communities.

WHAT DO WE DO?

The Afro Canadian Philanthropic Initiative serves as a catalyst for acts of kindness, connecting our communities within Canada and abroad by celebrating Black generosity and creating a model of equity for those who are disenfranchised.

WHO DO WE SERVE?

Although our focus is on members of the Black community and Indigenous groups, ACPI is committed to diversity, equity, and inclusion. As a network, we support love for humanity.

WHY WAS ACPI CREATED?

Our purpose is to inspire a collective shift in philanthropy and empower our communities across Canada and abroad to uplift and celebrate our community with collective giving.

WHAT IS THE BLACK CALENDAR?

The digital calendar was developed to celebrate the essence of our existence through the eyes of our children. From their individual stories, we will capture the brilliance of their hopes and aspirations, allowing us to align each student with an outstanding Black professional that personifies the student’s vision of their future self.

The Black Calendar is also a platform for our communities across Canada to feature their upcoming events.
